Influence on Legislation

The Women's Bar Association of Illinois was established in part to aid in the enactment of legislation for the common good. From its incorporation, the WBAI has played a vital role in gaining women the right to vote, serve on a jury, break down gender bias, fight for reproductive rights and child support enforcement, as well as advance equal rights within the workplace. A history of the strides that the members of the WBAI have made throughout time can be viewed below by topic area.
